Terms of use

Slice of Science · last updated 15 October 2026

Slice of Science is operated by JHL, LLC, a Vermont limited liability company. Using it means you accept these terms. They are short on purpose; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.

1. What this is

Slice of Science is a free web page that supplies science trivia questions one at a time, intended as a question deck for wedge-style board games. It is not a game, it keeps no score, and it enforces no rules. It is offered as it is, for personal and household entertainment.

There is no account, no subscription and no purchase. We may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time without notice.

2. The questions belong to us

The questions, answers, citations and their selection and arrangement are copyright © 2026 JHL, LLC. Facts themselves are nobody's property; the way these questions are written, chosen and organized is ours.

You may:

You may not, without written permission:

Automated access for bulk collection is not permitted, and requests are rate limited. Permission is a reasonable thing to ask for. See section 7.

3. No warranty

Slice of Science is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The answers are not authoritative. They are written carefully and each one cites a source, but they are trivia questions, not reference material. Science also moves: an answer that was right when it was written may not be right now. Do not rely on anything here for academic, medical, professional, financial or safety purposes. If an answer matters to you, check the cited source.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, available, or free of errors, and nothing here is a guarantee that any particular question or category will keep existing.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JHL, LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, Slice of Science. That includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special and exemplary damages, even if we were told such damages were possible.

This is a free trivia deck. If a wrong answer costs you a point, a bet or an argument, that is between you and the people you are playing with.

5. What is and is not collected

There is no account, so we do not know who you are. Nothing you do here is linked to a person.

Kept in your browser, never sent to us: which field you put on which wedge color, which questions you have recently been asked, and which you have hidden. Clearing your browser's site data erases all of it.

Sent to us only when you flag a question: the question's identifier, its category, the reason you picked, your comment if you wrote one, a random identifier generated by your browser, and your browser's user-agent string. No IP address is stored with a report. The random identifier exists so repeated reports can be recognized as coming from one browser; it is not linked to you and cannot identify you.

Counted, with nothing attached: how many questions were drawn and how many answers were revealed, per category, per day. These are plain counters. They record no identifier, no address and no question, and they cannot be turned into anyone's history of play.

Like any website, the server that hosts this one keeps ordinary request logs. We do not sell anything we collect, and there is no advertising and no third-party analytics on this page.

6. Trademarks

TRIVIAL PURSUIT is a registered trademark of Hasbro, Inc. Slice of Science is an independent product of JHL, LLC. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, licensed by or connected to Hasbro, Inc. or any other game publisher, and it is not a product of any of them. The name is used only to describe the board games these questions can be played with. All other trademarks belong to their owners.

7. Contact

Questions about these terms, reports of a problem, or requests for permission to use the question set: get in touch.
